Petra Kvitova beats Maria Sharapova in 2011 Wimbledon Ladies Final

Petra Kvitova wins Wimbledon Womens Sigles Title beating the crowd favourite, Maria Sharapova in straight sets. 6-3, 6-4. Kvitova outplayed Sharapova giving Maria her own dose of medicine by her deep ground strokes and big serves.

Maria Sharapova however is gracious on her defeat however it was a desperately disappointing outcome for the Russian-fifth seed who is the champion here in 2004 and who had been heavily favoured to win her fourth Grand Slam crown."It's great to be back at his stage and holding the runner-up plate- but I wanted the big one today," said Sharapova. "But it's something I want to be back for and holding again one day."
