Philippine Volcanoes defeated Korea, 19-14- Shanghai Sevens 2011

Philippines beat Korea- Ranked No.1 team in the tournament, 19-14 on their second game of the first day of 2011 Shanghai Open. Earlier the Philippine Volcanoes defeated UAE, 24-7. 

Philippines is currently Ranked No. 5 in Asia ahead of  Sri Lanka, Thailand and Malaysia.

As the first stop in the HSBC Asian Sevens Series, the Shanghai Sevens will host the top 12 sides from across the continent including hosts China along with Hong Kong, Japan and two time defending champions Korea. The tournament will also welcome the top 4 women’s teams, aiming to renew their battles from last winter’s Asian Games.
