FIBA Asia Cup 2012 Live Update, Schedule and Results

Here's the FIBA Asia Cup 2012 Live Update, Schedule and Results! SMART-Gilas, coached by Chot Reyes Toroman and led by Douthit, finished as the Cahmpion in the recently concluded Wiiliam Jones Cup 2012.The first for the Philippine National Basketball Team after 14 years.

The tournament which is slated on September 14 to 22 in Tokyo, Japan will serves as a qualifier for next year’s FIBA Asia Championship, where three spots to the 2014 FIBA World Cup is up for grabs.

The FIBA Asia Cup, between 2004 and 2010 known as the FIBA Asia Stanković Cup, is a tournament which takes place every two years between teams of the continent.

Fiba Asia Cup Draw has taken place in Tokyo, Japan. The teams were drawn into two groups with five teams in each. Four best teams from each group will qualify into the quarterfinals of the tournament.

Group A: China, Lebanon, Macau, SEABA (Philippines Malysia, Indonesia, Singapore) and CABA
Group B: Iran, Chinese Taipei, Qatar, Japan and SABA.
