Watch the Construction of 2019 SEA Games Facilities at the New Clark Global City

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) holds its first concrete pouring ceremony at the new site of the New Clark City sports facilities in Capas, Tarlac on April 25, 2018. The sports facilities will be the venue of the 2019 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.

Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) Secretary General and Philippine Sea Games Organizing Committee Director General Patrick Gregorio, Mayor Reynaldo Catacutan of Capas, Tarlac, and AlloyMTD President Patrick Nicolas David join BCDA Business Development Manager and Director General for Athletes Village Arrey Perez during the event.

The sports facilities will be composed of an athletics stadium with 20,000 seating capacity, a track and field oval, and an aquatics center that can accommodate 2,000 people. The facilities shall be built according to the standards of world governing bodies in athletics such as the International Amateur and Athletics Federation (IAAF) and the Federacion International de Natation (FINA).

As part of the government’s ‘Build, Build, Build’ infrastructure program, the New Clark City is poised to become the country’s first smart and green city anchored in the BCDA’s Comprehensive Master Development Plan. It is projected to become a new metropolis at the Clark Special Economic Zone (CSEZ) that will congregate industries, lifestyle, business, education, and nature.
