PAGASA Latest Update on Bagyong Mina- August 29, 2011

Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that.Tropical storm "Mina" (Nanmadol) weakened further as it moved slowly away from Philippine territory Monday afternoon,


At 4:00 pm today, Tropical Storm "MINA" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 340 km Northwest of Basco, Batanes (23.3°N; 119.9°E) with maximum winds of 95 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 120 kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 7 kph.
Forecast:
Extreme Northern Luzon will experience occasional rains with gusty winds while Northern and Central Luzon will have monsoon rains which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. Southern Luzon will be mostly cloudy with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest will prevail over the rest of Luzon and Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be moderate coming from the south to southwest with moderate seas.
