Bagyong Quiel Latest Update on September 28

Typhoon Pedring is moving away the Philippine Area of Responsibility but another Tropical Storm (International Name: “NALGAE”) was spotted by PAGASA at 1350 kilometers East of Northern Luzon.The new weather disturbance, which will be named “Quiel,” is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) within the next 24 hours, the state weather bureau said.

At 4:00 am today, the eye of Typhoon "PEDRING" was located based on radar, satellite and surface data at 300 km northwest of Baguio City (17.8°N 117.8°E) with maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 19 kph.

Forecast:
Zambales, La Union and Pangasinan will experience stormy weather while the rest of Luzon and Western Visayas will have monsoon rains. The rest of the country will be mostly cloudy with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest will prevail over the rest of the country with moderate to rough seas.
