2011 Sea Games Live Update, Results and Schedule

The 26th Southeast Asian Games will be held in Jakarta and Palembang,Indonesia in November 2011.Indonesia's fourth time to host the SEA Games, it last hosted the Games in 1997. Parallel to the SEA Games, the 6th ASEAN ParaGames for physically disabled athletes, begins 2 weeks after the SEA Games ends, with competition to be held in Surakarta (Solo), Central Java, Indonesia.

The country’s best athletes will represent the Philippine tri-colors once more in November, at the 26th Southeast Asian Games to be held in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia.
And Filipino sports fans will get to cheer from them in spirit, as AKTV will air SEA Games events on free television. The broadcast of the event is in line with AKTV’s commitment to promote sports in the country.
The SEA Games are slated from November 11 to 22, and officials of the Philippine Sports Commission are aiming for a top-three finish for Team Pilipinas.
More than 6,000 athletes from the 11 ASEAN member nations are expected to compete in the biennial event, with 542 gold medals up for grabs.
Expected to carry the Philippine flag for the opening ceremonies is boxer Rey Saludar, a 2010 Asian Games gold medalist. source:AKTV
The Philippines will be participating in 39 out of 42 sports included in the SEA Games calendar to be played in Indonesia.

So far, the number of Philippine athletes per sport are as follows: swimming (10), diving (7), water polo (13), archery (8), athletics (22), badminton (8), baseball (22), basketball (24), billiards and snooker (13), bowling (12), boxing (10), bridge (13), canoeing (5), chess (12), cycling (12), equestrian (6), fencing (23), fin swimming (5), football (20), golf (7), gymnastics (9), judo (12), karatedo (9), paragliding (6), pencak silat (9), petanque (7), rowing (10), sailing (5), windsurfing (2), sepak takraw (6), shooting (11), softball (39), sportclimbing (13), table tennis (6), taekwondo (17), tennis (8), soft tennis (10), traditional boat race (39), beach volleyball (4), water ski (4), weightlifting (6), wrestling (8), wushu (14).

The POC have approved for the inclusion of 14 athletes from futsal but are still determining whether to include either the men’s or the women’s team. Cycling is appealing for two more athletes.
