Korean Grand Prix 2011 Schedule, Results and Live Update

The Korean Grand Prix  is a Formula One race held in South Korea. After months of speculation, on October 2, 2006 it was confirmed that the event would actually take place in 2010, and would be hosted by the Korean International Circuit. It has also been revealed that the race will be promoted by a public-private company. The deal is for seven years with a five year option that would ensure the race to be held until 2021.

Saturday, Oct.15 Practice III : 11:00 - 12:00, Qualifying : 14:00 - 15:00
  • All 24 drivers run laps at any time.
  • The seven slowest drivers are assigned grid positions 18 through 24.
  • 2nd Session (Q2) :
  • 17 drivers excluding the slowest seven from Q1 record lap times again.
  • The bottom seven drivers are assigned grid positions 11 through 17.
  • 3rd Session (Q3) :
  • The final qualifying session is a shootout among the final ten competitors to determine the final 10 grid positions.
  • 107% rule in effect. Laps should be within 107% of the fastest Q1 time in order to qualify for the race.
Sunday, Oct.16 The Final : 15:00
  • Drivers form up on grid as set from Q1-3 / Start in 3m intervals
  • Podium ceremony for the top 3 winners
  • (Putting up the winner's national flag with the national anthem for the driver and team)
  • *Before the final race, the support race is held.
