Miss Philippines Gwendolyn Ruais in Miss World Fast Five

I heard in 24 Oras report yesterday that Miss World Philippines Gwendolyn Ruais is confident that she will make it on Miss World 2011 Top12 via fast five, where the Miss World contestants will compete in five different contests like the best in swimsuit, talent, debate, etc. and the winner on each five contest will automatically proceed to the next round of competition.

Gwendolyn Ruais as described by Norman of normanwordpress is a girl who’s tall with legs that stretch to forever. The girl who’s a gorgeous mix of Filipino and French lineage. The girl who will wear the Philippine sash in London, England for Miss World 2011.

At this point, she is all set to proudly represent the Philippines abroad (scheduled to leave for the UK by October 15). Ruais, who will represent the Philippines in the Miss World pageant later in November, said she wants to become the first Filipina to win the Miss World title.

So far, no Filipina has won the Miss World title. The closest the country has ever gotten to the crown was in 1966 when Evangeline Pascual won First Princess (first runner-up), and in 1993 when Ruffa Gutierrez won Second Princess (second runner-up).

Gwendoline Ruais wins 3 ‘fast-track’ competitions in Miss World 2011. Miles away in the cold, foggy streets of London, a Filipina is making waves.

Miss World Philippines Gwendoline Ruais has been winning left and right in the competitions leading up to the Miss World 2011 pageant.

Ruais is a finalist of the Miss World’s “Top 20 Beach Beauty," “Beauty With A Purpose," and “Top Model" fast-track competitions. The other fast-track competitions are for Sports and Talent.

The winners of the competitions will be announced on November 6 (November 7 in the Philippines), guaranteeing them a slot in the semifinal round of the pageant. source: GMA News
