So far, no Filipina has won the Miss World title. The closest the country has ever gotten to the crown was in 1966 when Evangeline Pascual won First Princess (first runner-up), and in 1993 when Ruffa Gutierrez won Second Princess (second runner-up).

The 21-year-old Ruais, who is half-Filipino and half-French, graduated with a Business management degree last year and was crowned Miss World Philippines on Sept. 18, 2011.
