PAGASA Current Update on Typhoon Gener

Here's PAGASA Update on Typhoon Gener on July 24.

According to PAGASA, Southwest monsoon affecting Luzon. Meanwhile, a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 930 km East of Mindanao (7.8°N, 135.8°E).

According to PAGASA the Low Pressure area will be codenamed Typhoon "Gener" once it enters the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

PAGASA FORECAST: 
  • THE WESTERN SECTION OF LUZON WILL HAVE OCCASIONAL RAINS. THE REST OF THE COUNTRY WILL 
  • EXPERIENCE PARTLY CLOUDY TO CLOUDY SKIES WITH ISOLATED RAINSHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS. 
  • MODERATE TO STRONG WINDS BLOWING FROM THE SOUTHWEST WILL PREVAIL OVER LUZON AND 
  • VISAYAS AND THE COASTAL WATERS ALONG THESE AREAS WILL BE MODERATE TO ROUGH. ELSEWHERE, WINDS 
  • WILL BE LIGHT TO MODERATE COMING FROM THE SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST WITH SLIGHT TO MODERATE SEAS.

Storm "Gener" has intensified further as PAGASA placed more Northern Luzon areas under storm signal number 1, with 'heavy to intense' rainfall expected in places within its 500-kilometer diameter.
