DILG Sec. Robredo plane crashed in Masbate Latest Update

BREAKING NEWS: Masbate City Vice Mayor Vince Revil says plane carrying DILG Sec. Robredo crashed 150m away from Masbateairport.

According to ABS-CBN stringer Jessie Parion, the crash site is about 300-400 meters away from the Masbate airport. There were reports that debris have been found floating at the crash area.

Speaking to ANC via phonepatch, Masbate City vice mayor Alan Cos said that rescue operations are being hampered by darkness and there no sign yet of Robredo.

JESSE M. ROBREDO is the current Secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Governments (DILG). He was a multi-awarded local chief executive of Naga City. Under his leadership, Naga has transformed into the premier city of Bicol Region.

Meanwhile, The Palace appealed to the public not to make speculations about Robredo’s condition.


Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said:
“As search and rescue efforts for Secretary Jesse Robredo and party continue, we ask the Filipino people to join the President and the cabinet in prayer for his successful rescue.
We ask that the efforts be allowed to continue unimpeded and without speculation on the part of the public. We must remain focused on the task: to find Sec. Robredo and his companions, and to bring them to safety.”

Rescuers have recovered debris from the ill-fated Piper Seneca plane that was ferrying Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo when it crashed into Masbate Bay Saturday afternoon. Transportation and Communications Secretary Mar Roxas said what appeared to be the plane's right wing with the numbers "431" was recovered according to the report from AKTV.
