Proper Pay Rules for August holidays- DOLE advisory

August 20 and 21, 2012 was declared Holiday in Philippines. However for those who will be working as overtime, here an August 16, 2012 press release from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz yesterday urged private sector employers to observe the proper pay rules for their workers on Monday, August 20; Tuesday, August 21; and Monday, August 27, 2012, which were proclaimed holidays.

August 20 is a regular holiday in view of the celebration of Eid’l Fitr, or Feast of Ramadhan, while 21 August is a special non-working day it being Ninoy Aquino Day. 27 August is a regular holiday in commemoration of National Heroes Day.


The said dates are declared holidays pursuant to Proclamation Nos. 295 and 455 issued by President Benigno S. Aquino III on November 24, 2011 and August 13, 2012, respectively.
