DFA release statement on the security of foreign diplomats amidst attacks on American Embassy

DFA released a statement on the security of foreign diplomats amidst Yemeni and Egyptian Protest on American Embassy as Protesters angered by a film they consider blasphemous to Islam have stormed the U.S. Embassy compound.

The DFA assured that the Philippines is taking all appropriate steps to protect the diplomats and the premises against any intrusion and damage or any disturbance of the Mission.
 Earlier, attack there was on the U.S. Embassy in the Egyptian capital of Cairo on Tuesday night. A mob of Libyans also attacked the U.S. consulate in the eastern city of Benghazi on Tuesday, killing American Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is closely coordinating with police and law enforcement agencies in the Philippines to step up security and ensure that diplomatic and consular missions of other countries are protected to prevent any attack on these establishments.
The DFA assured that the Philippines is taking all appropriate steps to protect the diplomats and the premises against any intrusion and damage or any disturbance of the Mission.
