The 4th FIBA Asia Cup 2012 is the qualifying event for the 27th FIBA Asia Championship in 2013, which in turn will be the qualifying event for 2014 FIBA World Cup to be held in Spain. 

The FIBA Asia Cup, between 2004 and 2010 known as the FIBA Asia Stanković Cup, is a tournament which takes place every two years between teams of the continent.

Group A: China, Lebanon, Macau, SEABA (Philippines Malysia, Indonesia, Singapore) and CABA
Group B: Iran, Chinese Taipei, Qatar, Japan and SABA.
