Philippine Dragon Boat Team in Milan Italy

The Philippine Consulate General in Milan welcomed the Philippine Dragon Boat team, the country’s representative to the 2012 ICF dragon boat world championships, which was held at the Idroscalo Club, Milan from August 30 to September 2.

Philippine Consul General to Milan Lourdes S. Tabamo hosted a dinner together with the officers and staff of the Consulate in honor of the team last August 28.

Also present were representatives from the Filipino communities in Milan who provided the team with food, accommodation, transportation, and moral support for the duration of the games. The evening concluded with a prayer led by Consul General Tabamo for thanksgiving and blessings for the team.

The team, composed of 29 members and officials, arrived in Milan on August 27 and competed with 12 other countries.

The team was in high spirits as they entered the elimination phases due to the massive display of support by the Consulate and members of the Filipino community.
