DAR said it plans to distribute the Hacienda Luisita lands before May 2013. Delos Reyes earlier said his agency’s self-imposed deadline is April 24 next year.
Meanwhile, the Department of Agrarian Reform on Wednesday identified the 5,365 Hacienda Luisita farmworker-beneficiaries who would be awarded with parcels of land from the more than 4,000-hectare sugar plantation in Tarlac province. The plantation is owned by the family of President Benigno Aquino III.
