After Indonesia in 2012, “Eat Bulaga!” the longest-running noontime show in thePhilippines is set to create another milestone in Philippine TV history as it going to air in 5 more countries this year.
According to Television And Production Exponents Inc. (TAPE), “Eat Bulaga!” will also air its international versions at São Tomé and Príncipe, East Timor, Angola, Malaysia, and Mozambique within the year.
“Eat Bulaga!” which in English translates to “Surprise!” is the longest running show in Philippines Television history. It debuted on 30 July 1979 on the Radio Philippines network and on 18 February 1989 it moved to the ABS-CBN network. The series moved once again on 25 January 1995 on the GMA network and its’ contracted has been extended until 29 December 2009. This series is a talent search type game show that over the years has been the springboard of many great performers in the Philippines.
