Video- Boeing F-15SE Silent Eagle rejected by South Korea

More than a dozen ex-chiefs of the South Korean air force as well as the ruling party’s lawmakers “had criticized the plane as it lacked crucial stealth capabilities,” reports The Christian Science Monitor. Fifteen former military top brass reportedly signed a petition after the Korean Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) announced last August 18 that Boeing’s F-15 Silent Eagle was the only remaining candidate after bidding.

The other bidders—the Eurofighter Typhoon and Lockheed Martin F-35A—were ruled out for going over the finance ministry’s budget, the report said.

New Boeing marketing video (June 2009) showing the capabilies of the F-15SE Silent Eagle stealth version, being offered for sale to international customers. A demonstrator is to fly by mid-2010.
