The following are excerpts from a report from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council on the effects of the earthquake in Sagbayan, Bohol, October 15, 2013. The information reflects conditions as of October 22, 2013, 6:00 a.m., unless otherwise stated.

Overview
  • An earthquake of tectonic origin with a magnitude of 7.2 occurred in Region VII specifically at Tagbilaran City, Bohol and Cebu City at about 8:12 a.m. last October 15, 2013.
  • As of 5:00 a.m., October 22, 2013, PHIVOLCS recorded 2,384 aftershocks, 57 of which were felt.
Affected population
    • A total of 588,564 families / 2,945,963 persons were affected in 1,282 barangays in 52 municipalities and 6 cities in 6 provinces of Regions VI and VII (these numbers decreased from the last situation report, as per validation of DSWD)
    •  Out of the affected, 73,374 families / 377,454 persons were displaced.
    • 20,995 families / 111,239 persons are being served inside 104 evacuation centers in the affected areas.
Status of lifelines
    • As October 21, 2013, all power in Tagbilaran City and in the 47 municipalities of Bohol has been restored.
    • Power in 77% of the barangays and 59% of the households have been restored
Status of seaport and airport operations
All seaports in Cebu and Bohol are operational
State of calamity
    • Province of Bohol was declared under the State of Calamity with Resolution No. 453, Series of 2013.
    • Province of Cebu still under the State of Calamity with Resolution No.1 041-13 declared on 20 August 2013.
