OF FAITH, POPE FRANCIS, AND THE PHILIPPINES

In less than two weeks, the Year of Faith comes to a close. Two weeks before it ends, our Holy Father, Francis, in his Sunday Angelus called on all men and women of goodwill to pray for the Philippines that is presently challenged by a series of natural calamities ( earthquake and typhoons, especially the super typhoon, Yolanda). In his message, Pope Francis even referred to us as "our BELOVED Philippines". Indeed, the Year of Faith closes in the Philippines with us, Filipinos, bearing witness to our Faith in the midst of great tribulations. But with the very consoling and loving presence of our Holy Father, Francis. As reported, he also, has given the instruction that the Vatican sends financial help, of significant amount, to the provinces adversely affected by the calamities. This he likewise instructed, per report, should be course through the diocesan bishops of the concerned localities.

Pope Francis is very much with us with his fatherly care as the Year of Faith closes even as we struggle to rise above our present sufferings as a nation - not relying on our own efforts alone, no matter how sincere and fullest they are, but on God's mercy and our faith in Him.

Is it not fitting for us to signal the end of the Year of Faith with the attached photo of Pope Francis praying? WE KNOW FOR SURE THST HE IS PRAYING FOR YOU AND ME.

If you so wish, please join us in changing our Facebook primary picture (and keeping it until Nov. 24, 2013 - the end of the Year of Faith) with the attached photo to say thank you to God for the graces of the Year of Faith - and Pope Francis himself is one of those graces that illumine us so radiantly just when darkness threatens the Faith of the many. +
