From January 12 to 19, 2015, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has implemented a no-sail zone (NSZ) policy within a mile from the breakwater of Manila Bay and other areas near the venues of the papal visit.

This rule will affect all kinds of sea vessels, such as:

  • yachts
  • dragon boats
  • kayaks
  • cruise ships
  • fishing boats
  • ships
  • small boats
Sea planes will also be prohibited to come near the breakwater.

The NSZ will also be enforced in the waters near Tacloban City and Palo Town, Leyte, both of which are places that shall be visited by the Pope.
