The Filipinas, led by Ateneo star Alyssa Valdez, will be testing their wares against continent volleyball powerhouses Iran and Kazakhstan in Group A of the tournament that marks the country’s return to the international scene after more than a decade of absence.
“This is our very first international task, and we hope to do more than we could to ensure the competitors and our guests will receive more than the usual courtesies and hospitality we, Filipinos, are known for around the world,” said Joey Romasanta, vice president of Philippine Olympic Committee Vice President and president of Larong Volleyball ng Pilipinas, Inc. (LVPI), the country’s governing body for volleyball.
TV5 will broadcast all of the Philippines’ matches.
