The Fil-Canadian Tolentino was not part of the Lady Eagles' line-up this season as she served a one-year residency and is also still recovering from a knee injury. She is expected to be part of the team next year, however, and may even see action in pre-season tournaments.
Alyssa Valdez, Season 77 Finals MVP Amy Ahomiro is similarly excited to welcome Tolentino to the squad.
"Katrina is really a great player, sobra," Valdez said after Ateneo's Game 2 win over De La Salle University last weekend. "I'm really happy kung makakasama siya sa team namin."
Ahead of the UAAP Season 77 women's volleyball finals, volleyball fans were abuzz when it was confirmed that Tolentino will join the team next year, and that she is expected to be "stronger" than current team captain Alyssa Valdez, according to ABS-CBN News.
