Rugby World Cup Japan in 2019 Team Standings Schedule and Results

Congratulations to Japan Rugby Football Union for their performance in the Rugby World Cup 2015. Despite winning 3 matches in their pool (vs. South Africa, Samoa and USA), their points were unfortunately not enough to carry them into the Quarter Finals. Nevertheless, Japan have done the whole of Asia Rugby proud with their historic achievement.

We look forward to your hosting of the Rugby World Cup Japan in 2019!

The 2019 Rugby World Cup will be the ninth Rugby World Cup. At a special meeting of the sport's governing body, the International Rugby Board (IRB; known as World Rugby from November 2014), held in Dublin on 28 July 2009, Japan was announced as the host for the competition. This will be the first time the tournament is to be held in Asia, the first time consecutive tournaments have been staged in the same hemisphere, and also the first time that the event will take place outside the traditional heartland of the sport.
