TOP GEAR PHILIPPINES For the record, these covers were arranged months before. As early as the first quarter, to be honest. Mahaba po ang lead time ng magazine. Hindi po pinaplano ang monthly issue one or two weeks from the date of printing. Pangalawa, our stories are purely editorial and cost car companies NOTHING. They can advertise if they want, sure, but our advertising department is completely separate from the editorial team that produces the articles.
Our guidelines for picking the cover cars are:
* What are the latest models entering the Philippine market?
* Which ones would our readers most want to read about?
* Would people actually buy the magazine if they saw the car on the cover?
Just pointing it out for everyone's information.
Give your conspiracy theories a rest. We do not accept money or gifts in exchange for stories. Our EIC has already challenged anyone who can prove otherwise by saying he will resign if we are found to be corrupt in our practice of our profession.
