The story behind the Cadbury Dairy Milk bar is as enjoyable and flavorful as the bar itself. Founded almost 200 years ago, it’s an amazing and inspiring story of how a small family business grew into one of the largest and most respected confectionery companies in the world.

It was back in 1824 when one John Cadbury opened his first grocer’s shop. The shop sold hops and mustard, along with a new sideline of cocoas and drinking chocolates. Before he knew it, his little sideline has bloomed into his best seller. It was so good that in a few years, he was selling 16 kinds of drinking chocolates and 11 cocoas. From that point on, the name Cadbury and chocolates became inseparable.

It wasn’t until 73 years later that John Cadbury first entered the world of milk chocolate. In 1904, John's son, George Cadbury, perfected the recipe and a new rich and creamy milk chocolate was born. Launched in 1905, this new milk chocolate boasted of a unique creamy chocolate taste and the world was quick to take notice. So wonderful was this formula that the same milk formula is used and loved until today.

On February 2, 2010, Cadbury officially became part of Kraft Foods. It has since been making everyday delicious for people all over the world!
