February 25, 2016 is National Holiday

President Noynoy Aquino has declared Feb. 25, 2016 as a holiday nationwide in celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the Edsa People Power Revolution.

In the proclamation, Aquino said the EDSA People Power Commission requested the declaration of the special holiday.

Meanwhile, here's the traffic advisory from MMDA on February 25, 2016:

UPDATED ADVISORY: In line with the celebration of the 30th EDSA People Power Anniversary, the EDSA People Power Commission (EPPC) announced earlier today that White Plains Ave. will ONLY be closed on February 25, 2016 (12MN-1PM). The previous plan to set up the Experiential Museum along White Plains Ave. was revised. Set up of said Museum will instead take place inside Camp Aguinaldo. Northbound lane of EDSA Ortigas to EDSA Santolan will also be closed on Feb. 25 (12MN-1PM), while Eastbound and Westbound lanes of Ortigas Ave. will remain open to motorists.

Alternate Routes are the following:

For White Plains - use Kamias Rd., Aurora Blvd., P. Tuazon, Boni Serrano/Santolan, Ortigas, C5; we will allow thru traffic from White Plains to Temple Drive (no u-turn since White Plains is closed)

For EDSA - use Mckinley Rd./Kalayaan/Pioneer to C5, Roxas Blvd./Quirino/Osmena, Ayala, Buendia, R. Magsaysay Blvd., Quezon Ave. to go north
