LOOK: The Department of Transportation (DOTr) sternly warns the public that it will not tolerate and will, in fact, pursue necessary actions, against motorists engaged in reckless driving and bragging about it on social media.
The warning comes on the heels of a viral video of an irresponsible motorist, identified on Facebook as Miko Lopez, who drove a vehicle from the front passenger seat. Lopez also continued to post other photos of driving without a steering wheel.
According to LTO Executive Director Romeo Vera Cruz, "this video is clear proof that he is an improper person to operate a vehicle, aside from committing traffic violations."
LTO ED Vera Cruz RECOMMENDS THE REVOCATION OF HIS LICENSE, and his disqualification from applying for a new license in the future.
“Huwag nating i-mock ang kakayanan ng gobyerno by clearly disobeying traffic rules. Nakaligtas ka man noong oras na ginawa mo ‘yan, we will make sure you will get penalized. Let this be a stern warning to everyone else. We enjoin the citizenry to report this kind of violations, and we will act on it swiftly,” DOTr Undersecretary for Road Transport and Infrastructure Mark de Leon said.
Lopez will be summoned to appear before the LTO today.
