The PNVF officially names Brazilian Sergio Veloso as the new head coach of the national men's volleyball team following the removal of Coach Dante Alinsunurin as the Head Coach.
The Philippine men's national volleyball team is currently in Japan for a 15-day training camp, where they will be based at the Panasonic Arena in Hirataka Osaka from April 9th to April 23rd. During their stay, they will engage in friendly matches with the Division 1 team, Panasonic Panthers. This initiative is part of the joint program between the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) and Japan Volleyball Association (JVA). As part of the program's general terms of reference.

The has been an issue even before they fly to Japan due to non-inclusion in Men's Volleyball Draw in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games draw held on Monday in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. However, a redraw has been made on April 18 and the Philippines landed in Group A, while Thailand was in Group B. The Philippine will need to Battle 2019 SEA Games Gold MEdalist, Indonesia in Group A.
The Philippines needs to secure a win over Singapore and Cambodia in order to preocced with the Semi-Finals match.
