Netizens asked Financial Transparency from MBY Pet Rescue

Being dog lover I used to visit and watch videos of Dog Lovers pages like Husky Pack TV, Joel Enriquez Barako Family, Shang Pooches, FurmomKhai and many more including Animal Shelter's pages. I love to watch and learn that dogs from Pawssion Project adopted by their fur parents and being sent to Canada and USA. Sometimes I also visit MBY Pet Rescue but sometimes it is stressful to see their post asking for financial help to buy food since their rescued dogs and cats don't have food for the day. Unlike other Rescue Centers that have reserved food for a week and month and are proactive in Adoption Progam, MBY does not have such. Just last night a saw a post from the page threatening to close down the center if their one month Meralco Bill of P62,000 will not get paid.

I saw a comment on their page from Devesh Singh and I think it's just right for the people who are sending financial support to the rescue center to demand transparency on the Financial Status of the Center on how much donations they are receiving and how much and how did they spend the money.

Mr. Singh Wrote:

There are many animal shelters that are able to handle their finance well but yours is always asking for donations on the very last minute when the dogs have nothing to eat anymore. It makes people question how the money is being handled. I really think that you should give up the animal shelter to someone who can handle it better. Give it to the younger generation who are tech savvy and will know how to collaborate with different organisations and well known people to generate more donations.

We need more transparency too. I want to know in fine details how much money did the animal shelter received and how did they spend it..

The New management should not be related to the animal shelter owner.

If your animal shelter continue to post every week on Facebook on the very last minute that your animals are starving and there is no food, technically you are not helping the animals but making it more difficult for them. People are going to try to shut you down for sure for the wellbeing of the animals.

There are so many red flags about this animal shelter which is why many people refuse to donate. The government should seize the animal shelter from you and then allow someone more credible to manage it. I really pity the animals..

If that happens, I would personally donate PHP 15k to 20k per month.

Then MBY Pet Rescue and Sanctuary Page answer back:

Devesh Singh If only you know everything .
The founder has been PRAYING and WISHED  SOMEONE whose GENUINELY CARES may come and may end her calling.
Her human family most needed her, too, and been wishing to hardened her heart so she could easily just stop caring and leave everything her fortune has built for the homeless.

You think the Sanctuary was built years ago  from.any donations?

During the highlight of Pandemic, you might want to know how she let go 3-4 properties to sustain the Sanctuary that never stopped helping and taking in distressed,  wounded, abused  strays and chosed to stay and be with all the rescues than  going back home with luxury awaiting with her human family.

Even when international boarders were re opened, she still refused to go back home and stayed more with the rescues.

Would you like to see the tons of Vet bills, pet food bills , kinds of daily essential bills, transport costs picking up rescues?

cleaners, maintenance cost 32K to 35K a week ( 8am to 6pm)  excluding overtime hours.

Bags of Dog and Cat Foods ( dry and canned), chicken meat for meds wrappings, meds and supplements costs these alone are over 40K a day..

If Pet foods are not enough, Rice to be cooked with jumbo rice cookers are optional than nothing to give the rescues, time cooking, and preparing the almost 40 jumbo rice cookers  would soften every bone of an aging founder and her helpers. Why not using gas stoves to cook? They have tried it then, 3 gas tanks × 900 = 2,700 × 30 days = 81,000 pesos.
See the big difference.?

No one could relate,  if you're not on the spot doing the same thing.

Just try putting yourself on someone's shoes.
And please no one's pressuring anyone to donate . Thank you❤️

Then Mr. Devesh answers back:

MBY Pet Rescue and Sanctuary I get it that y'all are trying your best but my point is that if there is no absolute transparency of how much of donations were received and how the money was spent, people would not be interested to help.

So a friendly suggestion is that either y'all can get help from professional organisations to take over the animal shelter and let them manage the finances or just close it down altogether because posting every week that the dogs are starving and bills are not paid isn't gonna help the animals..

Also it should not be "someone" taking over but more of "a team of professionals" taking over.

Im just sharing my thoughts.. I could be wrong..

You didn't pressure anyone to donate but by posting every week that dogs are starving and bills are not paid instead of solving the problems once and for all by handing the shelter over to professionals, it's only creating alot of negativity.. People genuinely want to help the animals but they start to feel skeptical.

Instead of being sarcastic and defensive by claiming that you didn't force people to donate, it would be nice if maybe you can actually post stuff like "looking for professionals to take over the animal shelter and manage the financial situation/expenses so that we don't have to ask for last minute donations and indirectly pressure animal lovers by having a financial emergency every week"

if there is no absolute transparency by making all transaction records publicly available, you have a very weak foundation to ask for donations and people are not gonna believe it. Only a matter of time before someone is gonna lodge an official report against the charity. Then y'all will have to open all the records to external auditors to prove how much the shelter has received and spent over the past few years.

The best way to avoid that is to seek professional help before the government steps in and investigate why are the dog's starving and bills are not paid all the time.
