It was Azarenka’s second title here in three years. The Belarussian shocked then-No. 1 Serena Williams to win the 2009 title. Her two Key Biscayne titles remain the most prestigious of her career.
Asked when she is moving to Miami, she smiled and said: “Today. I’m staying.”
Azarenka, a 21-year-old with an engaging personality, said her strategy was to make Sharapova swing quicker because she likes to “swing big,” and when she has time to do that, the ball comes flying fast and furious.
