Philippine Volcanoes-Rugby Team on Shanghai Sevens Tournament

The Philippine Rugby Football Union has named the players who will compose the National Men's 7s Team to compete in the Shanghai 7s Rugby Tournament in August.

The 12 players are:

Justin Coveney
Chris Everingham
Chris Hitch
Jake Letts
Harry Morris
Oliver Saunders
Kenny Stern
Eric Tai
Andrew Wolff
Rupert Zappia

The tournament is scheduled on August 27-28 in China. As the first stop in the HSBC Asian Sevens Series, the Shanghai Sevens will host the top 12 sides from across the continent including hosts China along with Hong Kong, Japan and two time defending champions Korea.

HSBC Asian Sevens Series 2011:

Aug. 27 – 28, Shanghai Sevens, Yuanshen Stadium, Shanghai, China

Sep. 24 – 25, Borneo Sevens, Likas Stadium, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia

Nov. 12 – 13, Thailand Sevens, Bangkok

Nov. 19 – 20, India Sevens, Goa

Shanghai – Men’s teams: China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, United Arab Emirates. Women’s teams: China, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Thailand

Borneo – Men’s teams: Brunei, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, United Arab Emirates. Women’s teams - China, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore

Bangkok – Men’s teams: China, Hong Kong, Japan, Kazakhstan, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, United Arab Emirates
