Thia-Maria to sing the National Anthems for Pacquiao-Marquez Fight

It is now clear that both Maria Aragon and Thia Megia will be singing the National Anthem for Pacquiao-Marquez fight. Maria will sing the Philippine National Anthem "Lupang Hinirang" while Thia will be singing the US National Anthem "Star-Spangled Banner.

American Idol Season 10 finalist Thia Megia said in an interview  that Congressman Manny Pacquiao has chosen her to sing the US National Anthem (Star Spangled Banner) in his fight with Marquez on November 12. While another Pinoy Pride was already chosen to sing the Philippine National Anthem for Pacquiao-Marquez fight, the Youtube sensation, Fil-Canadian, Maria Aragon.

Maria Aragon was interviewed in a now defunct Showbiz News Ngayon:

“Yes I’m really excited,” Maria told "Showbiz News Ngayon" about the matter. “It happened all very quickly and I’m so very thankful for getting the chance to do this. It’s an opportunity that a lot of singers don’t really get.”

While Thia met Congressman Manny Pacquiao in Manny Many Prizes when she guested on the show together with American Idol Season 10 Finalists.

"I met him last night. It was amazing. I got to sing the national anthem for him last night (Saturday). He told me that I will be singing in his next fight," Megia said in a TV show.

Pacquiao will be fighting Mexican Juan Miguel Marquez III on November 12.

Thia Megia is currently in the country together with the rest of the American Idol Season 10 finalists who will be holding 2 concerts at Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
