Pilipinas-Energen are too strong for their opponents on the first round of the 2nd FIBA Asia Under-16 Championship.
The Philippines marched into the second round of the 2nd FIBA Asia Under-16 Championship holding the top seeding in Group F in the 2nd FIBA Asia Under-16 Championship.
They will face Qatar on Saturday (October 22), Saudi Arabia on Sunday (October 23) and Japan on Monday (October 24). Pilipinas-Energen hopes to sweep their games to earn a spot in the quarterfinals.
The top two teams that emerge from the competition will qualify for the FIBA U17 World Championship in Lithuania in 2012.

Jay Alejandro exploded with 34 points as Energen Pilipinas Under-16 stunned Japan, 83-72 , to nail the No. 1 spot in its second-round group in the Fiba Asia U16 tournament Monday night at the Khanh Hoa Sports Center here in Vietnam.
Alejandro, a Mapua high standout, started his phenomenal show by dropping 19 points in the first half as the Philippines staged a rampant second-quarter run for a 48-36 halftime lead.
