South Korean Flag shown on screen during North Korea vs Colombia Football Match

South Korean Flag mistakenly shown on screen during North Korea vs Colombia Football Match on the 2012 London Olympics.

According to the report CNN, The North Korean Women's Football Team team left the pitch in Glasgow shortly before the scheduled kick off at 7.45pm local time after a South Korean flag appeared next to profiles of their players.

However, the delayed kick off didn't seem to affect North Korea when the game eventually got underway as they recorded a 2-0 win.

The game between North Korea and Colombia started over an hour late because of the protest. The United States women defeated France 4-2 in the preceding match at the stadium.

Olympic organisers, however were quick to apologise for the howler.
“Today ahead of the women’s football match at Hampden Park, the South Korean flag was shown on a big screen video package instead of the North Korean flag,” said a statement from London 2012 organisers.
“Clearly that is a mistake, we will apologise to the team and the National Olympic Committee and steps will be taken to ensure this does not happen again.”
