2012 Borneo Sevens Rugby Live Update, Schedule and Results

Here's The Borneo Sevens 2012 Rugby Live Update, Schedule and Results. The Borneo Sevens kicks off the 2012 HSBC Asian Sevens Series, followed by Shanghai and Mumbai. The final leg in Singapore is the International Rugby Board's Asian qualifiers for the Rugby World Cup Sevens 2013.

12 top Asian men's teams and 10 top Asian women's teams will be competing in the Borneo Sevens 2012 - International Class 2-in-1 Rugby Bonanza.

Teams from all over the Asian region, including Korea, Japan, China, Sri Lanka, Chinese Taipei and Kazakhstan are expected to give their best in this annual rugby tournament.


According to PRFU.com, The Philippine Rugby Football Union have selected the team to compete in the Borneo Sevens tournament on August 31 to September 2, 2012 in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.

Philippines vs Singapore- Singapore made a strong start in Borneo, pushing the top seeds Philippines to the limit before falling 17-14 at the hooter.

  • Philippines need to finish in the top 6 in order to get a good seeding for the Shanghai Sevens (Sept 22-23).
  • Philippines face UAE at 1:40pm to battle for 5th spot out of 12. 
  • Phils bows to Ch Taipei 33-12 & comes 2nd in the Plate Final of the Borneo 7s. They finish overall 6th out of 12 teams 
  • Japan defeats Hong Kong in the Cup Final. China defeats SKorea for 3rd
