Typhoon Lawin Latest Update- September 25, 2012

Typhoon "LAWIN" intensifies as it moves North Northwestwar according to the latest weather bulletin from PAGASA.

At 10:00 a.m. today, 25 September 2012, the eye of Typhoon "LAWIN" was located based on satellite and surface data at 520 km East of Casiguran, Aurora (16.0°N,127.7°E).

Residents living in low lying and mountainous areas under public storm warning signal #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.

Estimated rainfall amount is from 10 - 20 mm per hour (heavy - intense) within the 800 km diameter of the Typhoon.

Southwest Monsoon enhanced by the Typhoon will continue to bring moderate to heavy rains in Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.



Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon and the seaboards of Visayas and Mindanao due to big waves generated by Typhoon "LAWIN".
