Lea Salonga chose Rachelle Ann Go for Miss Saigon Remake

International broadway star and Filipino pride, Lea Salonga chose Rachelle Ann Go for the role of Kim on Miss Saigon Revival.

Miss Saigon is a musical by Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil, with lyrics by Boublil and Richard Maltby, Jr. It is based on Giacomo Puccini's opera Madame Butterfly, and similarly tells the tragic tale of a doomed romance involving an Asian woman abandoned by her American lover. The setting of the plot is relocated to the 1970s Saigon during the Vietnam War, and Madame Butterfly's story of marriage between an American lieutenant and Japanese girl is replaced by a romance between an American GI and a Vietnamese bar girl.

Ms. Lea Salonga names Rachelle Ann Go as someone who can play the character of "Kim" in the hit broadway musicale, Miss Saigon. In the next two clips, Rachelle Ann Go sings "I'd Give My Life For You" and "Sun and Moon", songs sung by the character of Kim in Miss Saigon. Ms. Lea Salonga looks on as Rachelle Ann sings "I'd Give My Life For You". In the last clip, Rachelle Ann sings the Tagalog version of "On My Own" from the hit broadway musicale, Les Miserables.
