MMFF 2012 Award Winners

The awards night of the 38th MMFF will be held on Thursday at the Meralco Theater in Ortigas. Entries to the film fest will run in theaters until January 8, 2013

Nora Aunor is the favorite to win Best Actress for her performance in Thy Womb as a Badjao midwife who is coping with her infertility by acting as a match-maker to his husband and the one that could give him a child.

Meanwhile, Sisterakas is currently the Top Grosser of MMFF 2012. According to the official tally of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) posted on Twitter, Sisterakas is produced by Star Cinema and Viva Films and selected as one of the 8 official entries to the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival. The film is currently showing nationwide on December 25, 2012. The film was directed by Wenn V. Deramas and stars an ensemble cast including Ai-Ai Delas Alas, Vice Ganda, Kris Aquino, Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, and Xyriel Manabat. The Film  is presently the top grosser, earning P39.2 million on the first day.


“Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote At Si Ako” starring Senator Bong Revilla, Vic Sotto, and Judy Ann Santos follows at the number two spot with P29.5 million ticket sales.
