Undersecretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Policy and Planning Manuel Gerochi is warning the public to ignore fund solicitation requests supposedly being initiated by him or his office.
Undersecretary Gerochi said that he has received reports that certain individuals have been misrepresenting him and his office by soliciting funds through phone calls, apparently to scam unquestioning victims of their money.
“Neither I nor any one in my office is connected with, endorsing or approving such unauthorized activities that are done using my name or anyone else in the DENR bureaucracy,” he stressed.
Gerochi said that solicitations by any person claiming to be connected with his office is committing fraud and should be reported immediately to his office through 926-2567 or through the DENR-Public Affairs Office at telephone numbers 928-2910 or 926-9805.
