The blasts happened about 15 seconds apart at 2:50 p.m. near the intersection of Boylston and Exeter streets. Officials described the bombs as "small, portable devices, according to wcvb.com report.

Numerous people are dead and dozens are injured after two explosions rocked the finish line at the Boston Marathon. Authorities have a identified a suspect, who is currently being guarded in a Boston hospital with shrapnel wounds.
