Philippines extended its lead to 28 points. Gilas had a 12-2 run and started to pull away eight minutes to go in the fourth quarter. The rest of the game is history. It was a 30-point victory for the Philippines.
David was explosive, scoring 22 points during the do-or-die game. Marcus Douthit has been resting since mid-third quarter, which is favorable for the Philippines as he will get the needed energy for the Gilas semifinals game against Korea, which defeated Qatar at the final match in the quarterfinals.
