The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration has lowered storm signals for several Northern Luzon areas, with only the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur and Abra remaining under storm signal number 1. According to PAGASA, At 4:00 p.m. today, the center of Tropical Depression "FERDIE" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 240 km West Northwest of Laoag City (18.6°N, 118.0°E). Tropical Depression "FERDIE" is now moving in a west northwest direction away from the country. Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the western seaboard of Luzon due to the combined effect of Tropical Depression "FERDIE" and the Southwest Monsoon. The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 P.M. today.
