Bagyong Karen Latest Update

Update for Typhoon Karen will be posted here once it was made available by weather bureau, PAGASA. Meanwhile, at 2:00 p.m. today, 28 August 2012, the eye of Typhoon "IGME" was located based on satellite and surface data at 370 km North Northwest of Basco, Batanes (24.2°N 123.0°E).

Typhoon "IGME" has accelerated while maintaining its strength as it moves in a North Northeast direction. P Public Storm Warning Signal on Calayan and Babuyan Group of Island are now lowered.

Estimated rainfall amount is from 10-18 mm per hour (heavy to intense) within the 500 km diameter of the typhoon.

Typhoon "IGME" will still enhance the Southwest Monsoon that will bring light to moderate rains over the Western section of Luzon.


Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the Seaboards of Northern and Central Luzon due to big waves generated by Typhoon "IGME".
