The evolution of shopping via e-commerce has prompted the retail arm of SM Group to launch its own online presence, thesmonlinestore!
SM had its beginnings in 1958, when Mr. Henry Sy Sr. opened the first Shoemart Store in Rizal Ave., in downtown Manila. The store boasted of good quality merchandise, innovative visual display, and creative salesmanship - things that were unheard of in those days. Through these factors, SM was able to gain a loyal following of customers, which opened doors for its growth. The Company expanded its shoe store chain in the sixties to accommodate the increasing demands of its customers.
Today SM Department Store has grown to a dynamic group of stores which lead the pack in the retail industry. In Metro Manila alone, 15 branches are scattered across the metropolis. These are Cubao, North EDSA and Fairview in the north. Makati, Harrison, Ortigas, Las Piñas, Bacoor, Bicutan, Sucat, and Bay City in the south. In the heart of the city, we have Quiapo, Sta. Mesa, Manila, and San Lazaro.
Also, the SM Corporate Offices are located at the SM Central Business Park in Bay City, Pasay. SM has put up branches around the archipelago to extend it's unwavering service to all Filipinos. In Northern Luzon, there's Pampanga, Baguio, Marilao, and the newly-opened branch in Clark, Pampanga. Southern Luzon is the home of SM Lucena, Damariñas, Batangas, Sta. Rosa and Lipa. In the Visayas, we have branches in Cebu, Mandurriao and Delgado. In Mindanao, there's SM Davao and Cagayan De Oro
Soon to open SM branches include Bacolod, Taytay and Tarlac. In line with the company's thrust to further expand our operations overseas, SM has been on Guam for about 2 years now.
