Magnitude 7.8 Earthquake shakes Iran on April 16
Magnitude 8 earthquake reported in Iran, tremors felt across the Middle East and as far away as Indian capital, Delhi.
According to the report from Emirates 24/7 a week ago, residents of the UAE felt the ground shake under their feet around 4pm on Tuesday as a 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck Southern Iran.
An aftershock measuring 5.4 was reported 13 minutes after the first earthquake.
The quake was felt across the Gulf in Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, where workers were evacuated from high-rise buildings as a precaution.
